Cancellation/Missed Appointment Policy

Please note that from 1st September 2024, there will be a “Did Not Attend” - DNA - fee of €20 per patient per appointment missed (including for RCSI students).

There are many ways to contact us if you need to change or cancel your appointment. You can use this form, call us during opening hours on 014022300, or email us on gpreception@rcsi.com. Cancellations received electronically within two hours of the scheduled appointment time may be marked as "did not attend". Please call us if you cannot attend at short notice, or if you are running late. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled appointment without notice, the clinician may not be able to see you. 

We regret having to introduce this fee, however, between September 2023 – May 2024, the busiest time of the year, nearly 2000 people did not attend (DNA) their booked appointments. DNAs cause undue stress on other patients who are seeking an appointment, and on the clinic.

Therefore, from 1/09/24, if a patient does not attend a booked appointment without reasonable notice, a charge of €20 will be raised. This charge will need to be settled prior to your next attendance at the clinic.

We will always send you a text message reminder of your appointment. However, it is your responsibility to note the time and date when you book the appointment, in case of issues outside of our control, such as a network outage. Please also remember to advise us of any changes to your mobile number.
